Turning Pointe School of Dance will be offering a variety of dance workshops at this years Elderflower Fields. Turning Pointe offer professional Dance training in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary and Musical Theatre for children aged 18 months+ all the way up to Advanced Level, including adult classes. They are a well-established school with a 50 year history in the area, and now offer classes in Haywards Heath, Lindfield, Plumpton, Barcombe and Lewes.

 

 

Ballet – 11am – 11:30am for ages 5-10

Ballet is graceful, fluid and precise, forming the basis for most other styles of dance. This workshop will give your child the chance to experience a Ballet class in a fun and informal setting. Led by qualified teachers from Turning Pointe School of Dance, the children will learn some basic steps and a short routine to classical music. Please bring your child wearing something they can comfortably move in.  

 

Creative Dance 11:45am – 12:15pm for ages 5-10 

If your child enjoys expressing themselves to music and making up their own dances, this is the class for them! Led by qualified teachers from Turning Pointe School of Dance, in this workshop the children will have the opportunity to explore different movements their bodies can make through story-telling and using their imagination. Please bring your child wearing something they can comfortably move in.  

 

Modern 1:30pm – 2pm for ages 5-10

Modern is an energetic and upbeat style of dance, teaching children the foundations of dance movement and working on skills such as flexibility and strength, musicality, rhythm, co-ordination and performance skills. Led by qualified teachers from Turning Pointe School of Dance, in this workshop the children will take part in an aerobic warm up and stretch before learning a short routine to popular music. Please bring your child wearing something they can comfortably move in.
